Responsibilities
- Develop and implement positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) within classroom settings to promote constructive behavior.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, school counselors, and administrators to create individualized behavior plans for students with special needs or high-risk behaviors.
- Support students with disabilities by applying specialized strategies rooted in special education principles and adolescent development theories.
- Engage with students directly to mentor, motivate, and guide them through behavioral challenges, fostering resilience and self-regulation skills.
- Work with families to build strong partnerships that reinforce positive behaviors at home and school, including providing guidance on child welfare concerns.
- Assist in managing conflict situations through effective conflict management techniques while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor.
- Participate in youth programs teaching social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution to promote healthy peer interactions.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of special education practices and experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Background in behavioral health, social work, or related fields supporting high-risk populations.
- Proven ability to work effectively with children and adolescents across diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in childcare, mentoring, or youth program instruction demonstrating patience and leadership.
- Familiarity with positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) strategies for classroom management.
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with families, educators, and community partners.
- Ability to manage conflicts constructively while maintaining professionalism under pressure.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
