Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Science Teacher to join our educational team on Wednesdays and Fridays. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire scholars in GRADES 5-12 with a love for science, foster curiosity, and develop their understanding of complex scientific concepts. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching, a strong background in various scientific disciplines, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment. Duties
- Deliver engaging lessons in aligned with curriculum standards (ICAA/BJU Press)
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate innovative instructional strategies and learning technology tools
- Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and standardized assessments, providing constructive feedback
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive and productive learning environment
- Facilitate laboratory experiments, dissections, and research activities to enhance hands-on understanding of scientific principles
- Mentor students individually or in groups to support their academic growth and interest in science careers
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance data in compliance with school policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, science or a relevant subject area; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Prior classroom experience is preferred.
- Ability to teach dual credit courses is a plus.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms and digital tools for teaching and assessment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective public speaking, parent engagement, and team collaboration.
- Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities; private school and public school experience is advantageous.
- Skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, copy editing, and behavior management.

Skills
- Strong knowledge of core sciences including biology, chemistry, physics, and anatomy & physiology
- Proven experience in laboratory techniques such as dissection, microbiological procedures, and molecular biology experiments
- Expertise in curriculum development tailored to diverse student needs and educational standards
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms and digital tools for interactive instruction and virtual labs
- Excellent classroom management skills to foster discipline while encouraging curiosity and participation
- Effective communication skills for engaging students, mentoring peers, and collaborating with parents or guardians
- Ability to design assessments aligned with standardized testing requirements and provide targeted tutoring when needed
- Experience working within private or independent school environments; knowledge of special education methods is a plus
- Strong research background with experience in scientific research laboratories; ability to incorporate current scientific advancements into lessons
- Competence in educational administration tasks such as lesson planning, proofing instructional materials, and maintaining library or resource center services
