Responsibilities
- Safely operate box truck to deliver bakery products to retail stores, restaurants, and other clients according to scheduled routes.
- Load and unload baked goods using manual handling techniques
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately by verifying orders and obtaining necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
- Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws to maintain safety on the road at all times.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure optimal operation; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain monthly maintenance of oil change drop offs
- Communicate effectively using mobile devices to confirm delivery schedules, report issues, or update route information.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client questions professionally and ensuring a positive delivery experience.
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, or courier services with a focus on food or bakery products.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for operating box trucks, no CDL required
- Strong knowledge of route driving, adhering to traffic regulations, and safe driving practices in urban and rural settings.
- Skilled in manual handling, heavy lifting, moving items safely, and operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Familiarity with warehouse experience including loading/unloading procedures and warehouse operations.
- Ability to handle weight in the workplace responsibly while following safety protocols for manual lifting and moving heavy loads.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members via mobile devices or in person.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe transportation standards.
