CNC Machinist Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and machining, with the ability to operate CNC lathes and milling machines. This role requires precision and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for producing high-quality components according to specifications. Familiarity with CAD software, blueprint reading, and various measuring instruments is essential.
Duties
- Operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce parts as per engineering specifications.
- Perform CNC programming and CAM programming to set up machines for production runs.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure accuracy.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in machining processes.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes using lean manufacturing techniques.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and tooling effectively for assembly tasks when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages and CAM software.
- Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments.
- Experience with electrical discharge machining is desirable.
- Knowledge of assembly processes and welding techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
