About Rock Solid Painting Co.
Rock Solid Painting Co. is a growing residential painting company in Mogadore, OH. We're known for quality work, clean job sites, and treating our team right. We're not a spray-and-go operation — we're building a business that top-tier tradespeople want to be part of.
The Role
As Lead Painter / Crew Lead, you're the on-site owner of every job you run. You manage the crew, the quality, the pace, and the customer relationship from first drop cloth to final walkthrough. You're accountable for results — and we pay accordingly. You will work with and report to our Project Manager.
What You'll Do
- Lead a crew of 1–4 painters on residential interior and exterior projects
- Read job scopes and estimates; manage the crew to hit hours and quality targets
- Conduct site setup, daily briefings, and end-of-day walkthroughs
- Maintain quality standards: prep, application, cleanup, and punch list completion
- Document job progress daily via Company Cam
- Manage the customer relationship on-site — first impression through final sign-off
- Identify and flag scope changes or issues to the production manager before they cost time
- Mentor junior painters and team members.
- Drive the company vehicle and maintain it per RSP standards
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of residential painting experience (1 year with RSP preferred but not required)
- Proven ability to lead a small crew and hold production standards
- Strong communication — with your team, the office, and homeowners
- Detail-oriented: you don't cut corners and you don't let your crew cut corners
- Organized: you know what materials you need, you order them in advance, you're never idle
- Valid driver's license — clean driving record required (company vehicle provided)
- Experience with job site documentation tools (Company Cam, TSheets, or similar)
Compensation & Benefits
- $22–$26/hr base
- Company vehicle + gas card provided (valued at $5,000–$7,000/yr)
- Efficiency bonuses
- Google Review bonuses paid per review earned on your jobs
- Paid Time Off: 40 hrs/yr (year 1), 80 hrs/yr (year 2), 120 hrs/yr (year 3+)
- 64 hours/yr unpaid sick and personal time
- Ongoing training through PCA PaintEd certification program
How Bonuses Work for Leads
When your crew finishes at or under budget with no callbacks, we split the savings with the team.
