We are looking for an experienced Powder Coat Shop Supervisor to lead our powder coating department and help drive operational excellence.
Position Summary
The Powder Coat Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the powder coating department. This hands-on leadership role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of quality. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate quotes and estimates for incoming powder coating projects.
- Schedule and coordinate weekly production to meet customer deadlines.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the powder coating team.
- Conduct daily production meetings to communicate schedules, priorities, safety updates, and department goals.
- Maintain inventory of powder coatings, chemicals, and shop consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
- Ensure all work meets Colombo Manufacturing's quality standards and customer specifications.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, and shipping departments to maintain efficient workflow.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and overall shop efficiency.
- Assist with production as needed and lead by example on the shop floor.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience in powder coating, industrial painting, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related production environment preferred.
- Knowledge of powder coating processes, equipment, and quality standards.
- Experience preparing estimates or quotes is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and production software.
