DT-Trak Consulting, Inc., a Native American-owned, SBA 8(a)-certified federal healthcare staffing firm, is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified physician to serve as Medical Director at the Mississippi State Veterans Nursing Home. This is a long-term contract opportunity through a multi-year agreement with Mississippi Veterans Affairs (MSVA).

Position Overview
The Medical Director provides comprehensive clinical leadership and physician services to veteran residents at a licensed skilled nursing facility operated by MSVA. This role combines direct patient care with administrative medical oversight.
● Conduct admission assessments, history and physical examinations, and establish individualized medical care plans
● Perform medical reviews every 30 days for the first 90 days post-admission, then every 60 days thereafter
● Conduct annual physicals for all residents
● Provide primary physician services and integrated, ongoing medical treatment
● Review, sign, and date progress notes for every resident visit
● Certify admissions, transfers, and discharges; participate in discharge planning
● Review and address all laboratory results; prescribe medications, including controlled substances
● Lead in-service training programs for facility staff, annually and as requested
● Oversee and arrange alternative physician coverage during unavailability
● Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and accreditation programs
● Collaborate with MSVA on policy and procedure development
● Ensure on-call medical availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Schedule
● Monday through Friday clinical visits, beginning no earlier than 7:00 a.m.
● 24/7 on-call availability required
● Estimated 20+ clinical hours per week
Required Qualifications
● MD or DO, board certified or board eligible (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics preferred)
● Current, unrestricted Mississippi medical license, or ability to obtain prior to start
● Active DEA registration
● Current TB skin test
● Mississippi State Department of Health background check clearance
● Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric medicine strongly preferred
● Ability to credential and begin November 1, 2026
Compensation
● Payrate: $190 per hour
● Estimated annual earnings: $197,600+ (based on approximately 20 clinical hours per week)
● Contract type: 1099 / Independent Contractor
