Slingshot Washer / Detailer

Houston Slingshot Rental is looking for a dependable, hard-working person to keep our fleet of Polaris Slingshots clean, detailed, photographed, and ready for customers.
This is a hands-on, physical, repetitive job. We have Slingshots constantly coming back from rentals and going back out to new customers, so there is a steady flow of vehicles that need to be turned around quickly and cleaned to a very high standard.
We want to be very straightforward about the job: you will be washing and detailing Slingshots over and over again. You will be outside, often in the Texas heat, using a pressure washer, foam cannon, towels, tire shine, cleaning products, and other detailing supplies.
If you like staying busy, working with your hands, and taking pride in making vehicles look great, this could be a good fit. If you are looking for an easy job with a lot of downtime, this probably is not the right position.
What You'll Do
- Wash Polaris Slingshots using a pressure washer and foam cannon
- Hand dry vehicles thoroughly
- Clean and detail the exterior and interior
- Clean wheels and tires and apply tire shine
- Wipe down seats, dashboards, body panels, windshields, and other surfaces
- Make sure each Slingshot meets our cleanliness and presentation standards
- Take clear photos of Slingshots after they are cleaned
- Park and organize Slingshots neatly in designated areas
- Move Slingshots around the property as needed
- Keep the wash/detailing area clean and organized
- Refill and organize detailing supplies
- Help maintain a fast and efficient turnaround when multiple Slingshots return at once
What This Job Is Really Like
Our Slingshots are constantly coming and going.
Some days you may finish cleaning one Slingshot and immediately have another one waiting for you. The work can be monotonous and physically demanding, and much of it is performed outside.
You should be comfortable:
- Working outside in hot weather
- Being on your feet for extended periods
- Bending, reaching, kneeling, and moving around vehicles
- Getting wet while washing vehicles
- Using a pressure washer and detailing equipment
- Performing the same cleaning process repeatedly
- Working at a steady pace without sacrificing quality
We have a high standard for how our Slingshots look when customers arrive. Customers are renting these vehicles for birthdays, anniversaries, vacations, date nights, and special occasions, and we want every Slingshot to look top-notch when it leaves.
Speed matters, but quality matters just as much.
Schedule
This position can be either part-time or full-time.
We are flexible and can work with different schedules, including:
- Weekdays
- After-hours / evenings during the week
- Weekends
- A combination of weekdays, evenings, and weekends
This can be a good fit for someone looking for additional hours around another job or school, or someone looking for a more regular full-time schedule.
Because our rental schedule changes from day to day, availability during busy periods and weekends is especially valuable.

Previous car washing or detailing experience is helpful, but work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail are more important.
Important
This is not a position where you will spend most of the day sitting around.
During busy periods, there can be a relentless flow of Slingshots returning and going back out, and we need someone who is ready to work.
If you are dependable, don't mind getting dirty or sweaty, can handle repetitive work, and enjoy seeing a vehicle go from dirty to looking brand new, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
