Summary The Technical Services Specialist has overall responsibility for equipment setup, maintenance and training in their designated operating region. They are responsible for ensuring that laboratory operations are aligned strategically with corporate goals and objectives.

- sponsible for ensuring that laboratory procedures, instrumentation, documentation and methodology for laboratory operations are understood and complied with across all company laboratories

- ke the lead in investigating non-conformances in laboratory instrumentation, troubleshoot and oversee completion of repairs

- dress technical issues that arise, including but not limited, to routine instrument maintenance, coordinating outside service contracts, and facilitating emergency equipment repairs

- ovide technical consultation for laboratory managers, operations and field staff pertaining to instrumentation and laboratory generated analysis, training and record management
·
C
- ordinate between Technical Services Department and Regional Laboratory Managers for installation of new or replacement equipment and procure and implement calibration and QC material for individual laboratories
·
S
- pport Laboratory Managers with CapEx and instrument upgrades
·
A
- sist in new laboratory set up. Unpackage, set up equipment and oversee vendors installation when applicable
·
P
- ovide backup to Director, Technical Services by handling issues that arise in their absence.

R
- port to Technical Services Center for instrument builds and repairs
·

- ep detailed inventory and status updates for all instrumentation at the Technical Services Center

- chelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred as well as 5-10 years’ industry experience

- st possess strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills, as well as technical and theoretical knowledge of laboratory practices.

- owledge of methodology and industry regulations and requirements for laboratory operations

- od inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate with employees and outside consultants, executive management, and colleagues.
