Job Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and equipment. This position involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
This job is for you if you are comfortable troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical issues, have experience working in a food processing facility, and are able to work 12 hour rotating shifts.
Duties
- The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
· Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems, processing equipment, packing equipment, washing equipment, labeling equipment, HDPE bottle production equipment and utilities.
· Performs preventative and failure maintenance activities utilizing equipment diagrams, schematics, equipment/operations manuals.
· Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
· Electrical – 120V, 240V 480V. Pull wiring, pipe bending, connections etc. PLC’s.
· Instrumentation Calibration
· Grease & Lubrication of equipment
· Welding – MIG, TIG and Stick
· Hydraulics, Pneumatics.
· Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
· Set up and assist in operator startup for production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
· Follow all company GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all safety regulatory requirements.
· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
· Work overtime as assigned.
· Ability to work cooperatively with others.
· Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance.
- Proficient in reading schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with logic controllers is a plus.
- Leadership skills to supervise team members effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients and staff.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Shift 1: 4:00am to 4:00pm.
Shift 2: 4:00pm to 4:00am.
Do you have a shift preference?
- The schedule for this role is a rotating 12 hour shift.
For example, one would work 4:00pm to 4:00am on Monday /Tuesday, then be off on Wednesday /Thursday, and work 4:00pm to 4:00am on Friday/Saturday/Sunday. The following week would be off Monday/Tuesday, work Wednesday/Thursday, off Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
