Job Title: Production Assistant Manager
Location: Butler, PA (onsite)
Position Summary
The Production Assistant Manager supports daily manufacturing operations by working closely with the Production Manager to ensure efficient production flow, quality standards, safety compliance, and on-time delivery of products and services. This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in blueprint reading, metalworking, machining, production scheduling, and employee supervision. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Sales and Engineering Departments to support customer requirements while maintaining operational excellence on the production floor.
The Production Assistant Manager will also actively participate in ATS’s Safety Committee to help ensure all workplace safety protocols and standards are consistently met and improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Production Manager in overseeing daily production operations and workflow.
- Supervise and support production employees and department activities to ensure productivity, efficiency, and quality standards are achieved.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Support manufacturing processes involving metalworking, machining, fabrication, and material processing.
- Coordinate with the Sales and Engineering Departments to ensure customer requirements and production timelines are met.
- Monitor production schedules and assist with inventory control and material availability.
- Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and repair coordination of machinery, tools, and production equipment.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and support employees in production procedures, safety practices, and company standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to all plant safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, or a combination of a technical degree and 2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Proven experience in production management, material processing, and machinery/tools handling.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, metalworking, and machining.
- Supervisory or management experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of production scheduling and inventory control.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
