Job Description: Student Supervisor
- Supervise students during recess and lunch periods on the playground and lunch areas and on the school grounds and in other designated areas of the school where supervision is required.
- Classroom supervision will be required on inclement weather days
- Knowledge of school and playground rules; Enforces them in a positive way to students.
- Ability to maintain order amongst students at varying grade levels
- Monitor time to make sure that students are reporting back to their classroom lines.
- Understand basic first aid principles
- Works well with others, including other yard supervisors, staff and teachers.
- Report special behavioral problems. Maintain communication with teachers and administration.
- Complete Office Referrals when referring students to the office
- Acknowledge students during recess and lunch time with WAVES tickets
- Encourage and remind students of acceptable behavior during recess and lunch time.
- Ensure that appropriate students are in proper areas.
- See that tables are cleared, maintain order and encourage students to monitor areas.
- Cleaning/sanitizing tables after students finish lunch
- Encourage students to participate in organized games and activities.
- Report any unsafe playground equipment.
- Report all accidents or injuries to proper authority; may give first aid if necessary; instruct students in proper use of playground equipment and participation in games.
- Monitor and help maintain playground equipment. Report if any playground equipment needs to be replaced.
- Help support classroom teachers with administrative/clerical work and projects.
- Help support office staff with clerical work; answering phones
