Job Title: RISK MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Compensation: $78,000 - $85,000
Job Summary:
The Risk Management Specialist reports to the Human Resource Director and will oversee the organization’s comprehensive insurance and risk management program. Will collaborate with external insurance brokers and oversee contract reviews to ensure appropriate insurance placement. This individual must be self-motivated and energetic individual who can work both independently and with others.

Essential Functions:
1. Gathers and complies information needed for reports, insurance renewal, underwriting submissions, and other risk management initiatives
2. Analyzes, maintains, and reports on insurance and claims data for Auto and General Liability, identifying trends and recommending risk mitigation strategies
3. Maintains knowledge of existing and developing laws and regulations related to the industry; assesses and explains how new requirements may affect the organization in terms of risk exposure and recommends appropriate action to ensure compliance.
4. Compiles data related to claims investigations from internal and external resources conducting site visits as necessary, and coordinates with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators through the claims process.
5. Drafts and presents risk prevention reports, recommendations, and proposals to management to support informed decision making and reduce organization risk.
6. Work with the Safety Manager to develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures to identify and address risks in the organization; as well as review and assess risk management policies and protocols; make recommendations and implement modifications and improvements.
7. Assists with insurance audits, underwriting requests, and the collection of exposure data required for policy renewals.
8. Administers the organizations fleet program, including maintaining vehicle records, insurance coverage, registrations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and communication with internal departments, brokers, and external agencies.
9. Process and track company vehicles/equipment; DMV Titles and Registrations, and authorized drivers in Pull Notice
10. Reliable transportation to and from jobsite, and consistent attendance
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
1. Minimum Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, communication, or a related field
2. License | Certifications:
- Must have a valid CA CDL and remain insurable under the organization’s vehicle insurance policy
3. Experience:
- 1 year of relevant experience
4. Skills, Ability, and Knowledge:

- Proficient with Microsoft Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowePoint) or related software to prepare reports and policies.
- Knowledge of vineyard production and development preferred.
- Collaborative team player, strong relationship-building, and active partnership with cross-functional teams
- Ability to use office equipment such as computer, 10key, fax, and copy machine.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of file contents.
- Bilingual English & Spanish a plus
5. Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to a maximum of 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, bend, and stoop
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, grasp, hold, handle items, and work with fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
