Retail Associate / Notary Trainee

Qualifications
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Prior retail experience preferred
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
- Strong sales aptitude with the ability to effectively cross-sell and up-sell products and services
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, PDF files, and general computer operations
- Beginner-level experience with design software such as Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign preferred
- Experience operating copiers, network printers, and other office equipment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Notary Public Requirement
All employees will be required to obtain a California Notary Public Commission. Candidates must:
- Be a legal resident of California
- Have no felony convictions
The UPS Store will cover all expenses associated with obtaining your Notary Commission.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist customers with packaging and shipping services
- Process mail and package shipments
- Sort mail and manage mailbox services
- Operate point-of-sale systems and process transactions
- Copying, document printing, faxing, binding, and laminating
- Stock merchandise and supplies
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
Comprehensive training will be provided.
Compensation & Advancement
- Starting pay is California minimum wage, with higher starting compensation available based on qualifications, experience, and the number of preferred requirements met.
- Sixty-day probationary/training period.
- Upon obtaining your Notary Commission and demonstrating proficiency as a Notary Public, your base pay will increase by $1.00 per hour.
- Additional responsibilities, increased compensation, and career advancement opportunities are available based on performance.
