Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Director to lead all sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities within our manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for driving procurement strategy, ensuring reliable material supply, optimizing costs, and supporting overall production goals.
The Procurement Director will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to enhance supplier performance, mitigate risk, and support long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team to achieve performance goals
- Assign and monitor work to maintain efficient workflow and meet production demands
- Conduct performance evaluations and address employee concerns professionally
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and respect
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and procedures
Procurement & Strategy
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with operational and financial goals
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and long-term agreements
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (on-time delivery, quality, cost)
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives including value engineering and alternative sourcing
- Manage procurement risks such as supply disruptions and market volatility
- Support new product introductions through sourcing and supplier development
Collaboration & Operations
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance)
- Ensure material availability and resolve supply chain constraints
- Lead supplier audits in collaboration with internal teams
- Implement procurement tools and systems to improve efficiency and data visibility
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of procurement experience, including 3+ years in manufacturing
- Proven success in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and procurement analytics tools
- Certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP are a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with exposure to a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility as needed
- Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs
- May require occasional travel
Schedule
- Full-time, salaried position (40 hours/week)
- Occasional overtime as needed
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
