Responsibilities
- Clear and reset tables promptly to maintain a smooth flow of service and guest satisfaction
- Assist with food preparation tasks under supervision, including basic knife skills and ingredient handling
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned using proper sanitizing procedures
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Support food safety management by adhering to sanitation standards and kitchen health and safety protocols
- Handle heavy lifting of supplies, dishes, and trash to support kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, kitchen stations, and storage spaces through regular cleaning routines
Requirements
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a restaurant environment
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and prep tools
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout shifts
- Good communication skills to work effectively with team members in a fast-paced setting
- Basic understanding of food handling practices and kitchen health & safety standards
