Kroger Packaging, Inc. is looking for a full-time printing press assistant to join our team.
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of a press assistant is to assist the press operator with production runs. This is accomplished through job prep, press assistance during the production run, and cleanup of the press and job materials after the production run.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Press Operator as needed
- Set up orders based on customer specification
- Mount plates according to job specifications
- Pull necessary tooling
- Pull job specific inks needed based on customer specifications
- Communicate with warehouse material handler to request required stock for the job
- Press clean-up
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment – practice a clean as you go policy- remove trash as necessary
- Clean printing plates
- Return inks and tooling to storage after use as necessary
- Be dependable and punctual to start the day on time
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing presses
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and use a ruler
- Ability to read and write in English
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational/technical school training preferred; on-the-job training provided as needed
- Previous related experience preferred
Physical Demands
- Physically able to operate printing presses
- Physical strength and stamina to stand for long periods of time
- Frequent walking in the press-room
- Flexible ability to bend or kneel frequently
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds at a time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
