$147/day Per Diem (for qualified travelers)
Overtime
Time and a half after 40 hours
Double time on Sundays
Overtime is voluntary and offered through sign-up sheets
Shift Options
1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Guaranteed 40 hours per week
Position Summary
We are hiring experienced Marine Outside Machinists to install, align, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment aboard marine vessels. This position is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical skills and experience working in shipyards or heavy industrial environments.
Successful candidates will be able to read blueprints, perform precision alignments, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and safely work in demanding shipboard environments.
Job Responsibilities
Install and align pumps, valves, engines, gearboxes, shafting, and other marine equipment
Perform precision measurements and mechanical alignments
Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems
Conduct operational testing to verify equipment performance
Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, and laser alignment equipment
Maintain a safe and organized work area
Work in confined spaces and at various heights
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of Marine Outside Machinist or related heavy industrial experience
Experience installing and aligning rotating equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Experience using precision measuring tools
Strong understanding of mechanical tolerances and alignment procedures
Comfortable working in confined spaces and physically demanding environments
Experience with propulsion and auxiliary systems is a plus
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred
