Overview
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate dispensing of medications, patient counseling, and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of our patients. Working collaboratively with pharmacy technicians and healthcare providers, the pharmacist plays a central role in medication management, disease state education, and the promotion of positive health outcomes within our community.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Counsel patients on the proper use, side effects, interactions, and storage of medications.
- Perform comprehensive medication reviews and collaborate with prescribers to optimize patient drug therapy.
- Administer vaccines and provide clinical pharmacy services including point-of-care testing where applicable.
- Oversee and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure efficient and accurate workflow.
- Maintain proper inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and management of controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations.
- Identify and resolve drug therapy problems, including potential interactions and contraindications.
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries, concerns, and medication-related questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with advances in pharmaceutical care.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Licensure
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy — Required
- Active and unrestricted Indiana Pharmacist License (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date) — Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross — Required
- Immunization certification preferred; willingness to obtain required

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
