We are opening our second location in Marlborough and are seeking a groomer who is fluent in Portuguese or Spanish to help us serve our multilingual customer base.
Qualifications
- Experience in pet grooming and basic animal care
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills; comfortable with various breeds
- Customer service orientation and ability to communicate with clients
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices in grooming settings
- Multilingual abilities (Portuguese) a plus; willingness to learn and follow shop policies
- Physical ability to lift and handle grooming equipment and pets as needed
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and assess the grooming needs of pets, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
- Wash, dry, brush, and trim fur; bathe, brush teeth, and clean ears as needed; handle nails and coats per breed standards.
- Safely restrain and manage animals during grooming, monitoring for signs of stress or discomfort.
- Maintain sanitary grooming stations, clean tools, and schedule appointments; document services performed.
- Provide basic pet care guidance and upsell appropriate products or services; ensure friendly, multilingual communication with clients.
Summary
As a Pet Groomer, you will care for and beautify companion animals while ensuring their comfort and wellbeing. You will leverage core skills in animal handling, grooming, restraint, and overall animal care to perform grooming services, monitor safety, and maintain a clean grooming area. Your premium skills in dog handling, veterinary-related experience, and related technical tasks will support occasional wellness checks and client education. With a focus on customer service and kennel experience, you will build trust with pet owners and contribute to a positive, low-stress grooming experience in a multilingual setting.
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
