Snapshot of this role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Transportation Coordinator to optimize daily transportation of medical devices and installation project equipment. The overall responsibilities incl. coordinating shipments, scheduling deliveries, communicate with drivers, installers, operations teams and service providers, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation services.
- Request and receive transportation quotes(mainly road transport, LTL, FTL, White Glove Services) from vendors
- Decide based on economical and logistical factors if transportation/rigging (setting up of forklifts/crane/manpower) is handled internally or externally
- Create weekly transportation/rigging schedule for internal resources as well as external suppliers
- Arrange for materials and equipment for weekly installation jobs to be transported to/from project sites
- Coordinate materials and information for upcoming jobs with internal departments
- Handle all transportation requests for internal as well as external customers
- Collect all paperwork, including proof of delivery documents from trucking companies and internal resources and store in the ERP system
- Set up and maintain paper or electronic filing systems, databases, spread sheets, complete paperwork or other files and materials.
- Available during normal business and occasionally after hours if issues arise to answer calls or emails
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with transportation coordination within a logistics organization.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation for customer satisfaction.
- Familiar with administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms and databases, and other office procedures.
- Ability to understand and utilize Microsoft Office software.
- Has a keen eye for small details, good sense of judgement, and performs well with minimal supervision.
- Understands the basic operations and use of personal computers and other peripheral equipment.
- High School Diploma or possession of a High School equivalency diploma and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
