J & S Plating & Repair is an FAA Part 145 Repair Station specializing in the repair and overhaul of aircraft engine components. We're looking for a motivated problem solver to help improve our manufacturing processes, documentation, and overall shop efficiency.
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will work directly with management to improve and standardize manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for leading Request for Engineering (RFE) projects, developing manufacturing processes, creating visual Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), supporting CNC programming, and driving continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Success in this position requires both office and shop floor involvement. You'll observe operations, work alongside production personnel, identify opportunities for improvement, and create clear, easy-to-follow documentation that helps ensure safe, repeatable, and efficient manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead Request for Engineering (RFE) projects.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes.
- Create visual SOPs and work instructions using photos and diagrams.
- Standardize processes to improve quality and reduce variation.
- Support CNC programming and machining process improvements.
- Design fixtures, tooling, gauges, and workholding solutions.
- Work with machinists and production personnel to solve manufacturing challenges.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Maintain technical documentation and process revisions.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
OR
- Equivalent manufacturing experience with strong mechanical aptitude
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- CNC programming and machining
- Manufacturing or process engineering
- SOP and technical document creation
- CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Fixture and tooling design
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement
- Aerospace manufacturing (preferred)

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
