Position Overview:
Sunny Language Academy offers an English-Chinese immersion program for children ages 3 months old to pre-K. We’re looking for nurturing, energetic, positive, hardworking and responsible Chinese teachers to join our community.This early exposure to cultural and language diversity offers unique opportunities for our children to become competent and confident global citizens when they grow up.The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and have experience teaching young children in a bilingual environment. This position requires creativity, patience, and a deep commitment to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning atmosphere where children can thrive both academically and socially.
Schedule: Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
Wage: Starting $22 -$26/hr DOE

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Bachelor’s Degree + 1 year working experience in early childhood education OR Associate degree + 2 years relevant work experience
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or other child-centered teaching philosophies.
- Native or near-native fluency in Chinese
- Knowledge of early childhood developmental milestones and teaching methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Must pass enrollment in Washington Central Background Registry (CBR) once hired
- Valid Pediatric/Infant First Aid and in-person CPR certification once hired
- Valid Food Handlers Card once hired
- Provide vaccinations, including a negative TB test.
- High level of professionalism, good initiative, flexibility, dependability, and attention to details
Job Descriptions/Duties:
- Chinese Language Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Chinese that promote language acquisition and literacy for children aged 3-5.
- Bilingual Support: Collaborate with other teachers to create a holistic bilingual learning experience that reinforces both English and Mandarin language skills.
- Lead class activity: Design and implement age-appropriate activities that align with the school’s curriculum and enhance cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Offer safety, security, as well as wellbeing to all the children in the group; provide necessary assistance for dressing, diapering/toileting, playing, learning, and other activities
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and maintains a structured, safe, and supportive atmosphere.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting, etc.
- Maintain a well-organized, clean, and attractive classroom environment
- Parent Communication: Regularly communicate with parents about their child's progress and work closely with them to support at-home language learning.
- Respect and understand diversity and different cultural backgrounds
