Bill’s Fence Company has an immediate opening for a “Commercial Fence Estimator" in College Station, TX.
The ideal candidate would have verifiable experience in fence and construction with the ability to interpret plans and specifications, understand a variety of job site conditions, and have excellent customer service skills. They would also have excellent communication skills and personality to meet current and potential clients and be able to build those relationships.
Responsibility for all aspects of job estimating including onsite visits, plan takeoffs, gathering material quotes and pricing / drafting final proposals. A variety of business development tasks such as meeting potential clients, home builders, and general contractors. Projects vary in size from $2,000.00 to $2,000,000.00.
Preference would be given to any individual with three to five years of experience. Applicant must be able to work independently, have excellent organizational and project management skills, and be able to complete estimates within the time frame allowed.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- You will be responsible for plan takeoffs, site visits, estimating and supplying proposals for products/services as supplied by Bill’s Fence Company to all interested parties on their projects. This will require blue print interpretation, scope takeoffs, estimating and preparation of the proposal.
- Following the sale, you will continue your relationship with the customer in providing all product information, further information, and changes in scope.
- You will team with your project managers, field superintendents, crew support and fabrication in seeing your project through to completion.
- Develop and build relationships with customers and clients and generate leads
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in fence and construction
- Estimating and sales
- Exceptional customer service
- Excellent organizational skills
- Communication and conversational skills (social skills)
- Ability to design/build projects when necessary
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner to meet deadlines
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, building, and site plans
- Ability to work efficiently with Google Docs and Google Sheets (or equivalent)
- Familiarity and ease of use with Google Drive (or equivalent cloud based storage software)
- In-depth knowledge of all fencing systems and other trades that affect this scope of work
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with office staff and project managers
- Applicants must have a valid driver’s license
Salary:
Base Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 including estimated commission
Estimated Commission: $20,000.00 to $27,000.00 (no cap)
Total Estimated Salary: $70,000.00 to $87,000.00

Preferred/Required Experience:
- Construction Estimating: 2+ years (Strongly preferred), 1 year (Required)
- Professional Fence: 1+ years (Strongly preferred)
- Customer Relations: 5+ years (Required)

- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and blueprints (if applicable)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

- Previous experience in construction, roofing, or home improvement industries
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or other safety certifications
- AFA certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with estimating software or similar platforms
- Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and local building codes
- Project management or scheduling experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Basic knowledge of contracts and job costing
