Position Overview:
We are seeking Individual Support Specialists to provide one-on-one care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This hands-on role is essential to helping clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with clients to understand and support their personal needs
- Implement individualized care plans in collaboration with other professionals and family members
- Assist with personal care activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding)
- Support clients with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping
- Provide safe transportation to appointments, events, or community programs
- Encourage participation in recreational and social activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment
- Collaborate with family members and guardians as part of the client’s support system
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old (Required)
- Must be able to lift at least 90 lbs (Required)
- At least 2 year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing, Nursing Home, Home Health Care, childcare, or developmental disability setting (Required)
- OR equivalent education: 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours from an accredited institution
- Level 2 Background Check (Required)
- Local Background Check (Required)
- Current CPR Certification (Required)
- Completion of APD Waiver Support Provider Training (we will provide):
- Direct Care Core Competency (DCC)
- HIPAA Compliance
- Zero Tolerance Training
Schedule:
- Must be available to work any day of the week (Sunday through Saturday)
