Job Purpose:
Provides high quality credit analysis and underwriting with proper identification and evaluation of credit risks and mitigants for larger and more complex loan requests. Complies with established processes, quality standards and responsiveness expectations. Evaluates credit requests, structure and loan codes. Provides guidance and coaching to less experienced credit analysts and underwriters.
Job Duties:

Underwrites larger and more complex loan requests to meet customer and prospect needs while also best protecting bank.

Performs high quality credit analysis and underwriting to ensure credit risks are identified and adequately mitigated including but not limited to repayment sources, collateral coverage and industry impact.

Evaluates credit requests and structure.

Complies with established processes, quality standards and responsiveness expectations.

Validates loan codes within loan packages to ensure accuracy.

Provides guidance and coaching to less experienced credit analysts and underwriters for continuous growth and bench strength.

Participates in Pre-Flight discussions and memorializes takeaways.

Builds out loan request details within loan origination system in conjunction with commercial banking portfolio managers.

Performs appraisal review and evaluation if applicable.

Validates risk ratings and requests changes if warranted.

Adheres to bank’s policies and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements.

Will perform special projects as assigned.
Education, Job Skills and Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree required. Specialization in accounting, finance or economics preferred.

7+ years of commercial credit underwriting, risk management or equivalent experience preferred.

Excellent credit analysis, risk management and loan structuring skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Highly organized and attentive to detail.

Proven ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment.

Proven ability to effectively communicate viewpoint and make independent decisions.

Desire and ability to coach and mentor less experienced credit associates for ongoing growth and development.

Well-versed on bank’s credit policy.

Current on applicable banking laws, regulatory requirements and credit/risk management practices.

Proficient with the Microsoft suite of products and commercial loan origination system software platforms. nCino experience a plus.

Some travel required; must have a valid driver's license for travel throughout Peoples Bank footprint of offices.
Basic Qualifications:
