Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while ensuring proper use of dental imaging equipment and adherence to radiation safety protocols
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history and treatment plans
- Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring comfort throughout appointments
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies by safeguarding patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support the dental reception area by managing patient management software, scheduling appointments, and coordinating follow-up care
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chair side assisting
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology
- Proficiency in taking X-ray images and medical imaging is required
- Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention and control.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, specialists in oral surgery or endodontics, and other healthcare professionals
