Seeking a seasoned Controller and Office Manager a Pagel, Davis, and Hill client located in Cypress, Texas. This individual will lead and oversee the company’s financial operations, systems, reporting and administration. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring deep expertise in financial systems, accounting practices, and operational finance. The position is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, scalability, discipline, transparency and HR duties as the company continues its rapid growth domestically and internationally.
The ideal candidate is a strong financial leader who understands the full financial lifecycle of a growing manufacturing and distribution business - someone who can manage details while also providing executive-level insight and guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the senior financial leader partnering closely with the CEO and executive leadership team.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support growth, profitability, and long-term planning.
- Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business decisions.
- Manage an accounting team, while also being hands-on.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Own and interpret core financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Invoicing, receiving and reconciliations of banking and credit cards
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory and tax requirements.
- Oversee external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as needed.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Direct and manage AP and AR functions, ensuring strong controls, accuracy, and timely processing.
- Improve cash flow management, collections processes, and vendor payment strategies.
- Establish and enforce financial controls and approval workflows.
- Administer payroll through third-party payroll service.
Financial Systems & Technology
- Own and optimize the company’s financial systems, with a strong emphasis on NetSuite (ERP).
- Ensure proper configuration, reporting, integrations, and scalability of NetSuite across departments.
- Lead system improvements, automation, and process efficiencies.
Operational Finance & Controls
- Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Monitor KPIs and financial performance metrics across departments.
- Support inventory, cost accounting, and margin analysis for manufacturing and distribution operations.

Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Build scalable processes and systems that support continued growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and financial discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA strongly preferred).
- Or equal hands-on business experience
- Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with senior leadership experience preferred.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
