This position provides the first impression of the hospital to clients and the public when calling or visiting. Therefore, he/she represents the first professional image of the practice. Must be friendly, upbeat and display a positive attitude in front of clients at all times, be professional and courteous, exhibit a welcoming attitude, and finish the client's visit on a positive note. Must be capable of handling well and completing many tasks at once with many interruptions. The receptionist must remain calm even when clients are upset or it is very busy.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Good salesmanship and marketing skills
- Excellent phone skills and face to face communication skills
- Good typing skills and legible handwriting
- Good general computer knowledge
- Excellent general office skills - print, copy, scan, fax, file

Responsibilities and Duties
- Greet individuals as they enter the hospital with a friendly and welcoming attitude
- Answer multiple lines efficiently and without keeping clients on hold for excess amount of time
- Schedule appointments and procedures
- Check-in and/or, check out patients, process daily invoices.
- Check emails and respond accordingly
- Manage the front desk in a clean and orderly appearance - maintaining computer equipment, files, records, other documents at the desk
- Learn the basic hospital protocols for vaccinations, new pet procedures, and assist with client education materials
- Assist with end of day cleaning procedures in reception area as well as other areas of the hospital.
- Be willing to perform any additional requests
Required shifts:
- Weekdays and some Saturdays
- This position is for approximately 30-35 hours/week. Wage based on experience and proficiency.
