Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods, supplies, and prescriptions to various locations within the community. This role requires excellent driving skills, organizational ability, and a focus on customer service to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the items transported.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products and prescriptions according to scheduled routes.
- Load and unload items with proper handling techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Follow prescribed routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.
- Assist with merchandising and organizing inventory within delivery vehicles or storage areas.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries professionally and ensuring satisfaction upon delivery.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs to ensure safety and reliability.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record.
- Strong math skills for route planning, pricing, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries within tight schedules.
- Knowledge of route driving techniques to optimize efficiency.
- Familiarity with upselling products or services when appropriate to enhance sales opportunities.
- Background in military logistics or transportation is a plus, demonstrating discipline and reliability in delivery operations.
