Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care within senior living facilities. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in administering medications accurately, supporting residents’ health and well-being, and ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations. Your expertise in medication management, resident care, and medical documentation will contribute significantly to providing exceptional quality of life for our residents.
Duties
- Administer prescribed medications to residents accurately and safely in accordance with state healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition, reporting findings promptly to nursing staff.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records using PCC , ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory impairments, including memory care techniques and behavioral management.
- Communicate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care delivery.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in accordance with state Board of Nursing requirements.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care practices including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
- Proficiency in using PCC preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of resident information.
- Demonstrated understanding of state healthcare regulations governing medication administration and patient safety standards.
