We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures by assisting the surgical team, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a sterile environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of both medical and dental terminology.
Duties
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with clinic protocols.
- Prepare the surgical area by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
- Collaborate with dental professionals in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings to provide optimal patient care.
- Utilize Eaglesoft software for patient management, scheduling, and record keeping.
- Conduct medical imaging as required to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and follow-up procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Surgical Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and familiarity with medical records management.
- Proficiency in using WinOMS management software is preferred.
- Ability to perform vital signs monitoring accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with patients and team members.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety protocols.
