Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Attendant to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to Veterans who are on their path to self-sufficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through direct support and engagement. This role requires a blend of skills, including excellent communication and high level of compassion, to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Oversees the front desk activities which include:
1. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor, wears TBS uniform and is an agent of hospitality and welcome.
2. Answers the phone in a professional manner and directs call to the appropriate individual.
3. Monitors the video screens to ensure the security of the facility.
4. Greets visitors to TBS and assists with the appropriate sign-in process.
5. Ensures residents sign out when leaving the building and sign in upon return; ensures that residents provide appointment verification or discharge summaries (when appropriate) when exiting the building.
6. Inspects any bags or personal items that residents bring into the building and discards any unapproved or prohibited items, and documents in an incident report as needed.
7. If resident is suspected to be under the influence of drug or alcohol, RA will conduct a monitored urine analysis immediately.
8. Accepts donations when instructed by volunteer coordinator and ensures donations are placed in the appropriate location as determined by the volunteer coordinator.
9. Signs for packages for residents and staff; inspect resident packages with resident present.
10. Receives US Mail and places in Red Mailbox in vestibule.
11. Participates in the admission and discharge process by:
12. Welcomes the new residents into the program.
- Conducts personal belongings search and discards any unapproved or prohibited items.
- Logs any medication in the medication log and places in appropriate boxes in medication room.
- Conducts a monitored urine analysis within 24 hours of their arrival.
- Assigns bed and lockers for all residents and documents in Shift Reports.
- Ensures new residents receive bed linens and welcome pack from Outreach Coordinator.
13. Supervises resident movement during the discharge process.
- Inventory, pack, and label personal belongings of residents who have left the program
14. Assists in the daily operation of the program by:
- Generates the weekly chore list on a 14-day rotating basis.
- Distributes mail as needed for residents immediately after receiving it from a case manager or supervisor.
- Ensures any new medication is immediately documented and placed in a locked, secure location in the medication room.
- Makes rounds prior to/during groups to ensure all residents in the building are attending group.
- Writes any infractions for any client in non-compliant status.
- Communicates to case managers residents’ attendance in all groups.
- Makes semi-hourly rounds of the facility for wellness checks on residents and to ensure that clients are safe and in program compliance.
15. Facilitates medication distribution and other screening processes as needed.
16. Adheres to all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
17. Other duties as assigned by the Residential Attendant Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS (MUST BE OBTAINED PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT)
· Drug screening and TB skin test
· Online Background Check
· CPR/First Aid Certified
LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma/GED; BS Degree or related experience preferred.
· Certified Medication Technician (CMT) preferred.
· Experience working in a residential treatment, counseling setting or related field preferred.
· Commitment to effectiveness, prioritizing efficiency and timely follow-through.
· Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient typing and writing skills.
· Posses a basic knowledge of office equipment, including computers, copy machines, and a willingness to attend appropriate classes to increase knowledge as needed.
· Comfortable with Microsoft Word and Outlook/database/ spreadsheets/ systems.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines. Ability to meet short and long-term goals and provide a track record of successfully meeting deadlines.
· Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with minimal direct supervision.
· Commitment to self-reflection and personal awareness as a means of being able to remain emotionally available and connected with residents, staff and other stakeholders, and function as an engaged team-member.
· Experience with multi-cultural/multi-lingual populations and multi-disciplinary teams preferred, expanding the organization’s role in engaging traditionally underserved communities, and self-awareness regarding issues of race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion/spirituality and disability.
· Respect for the strict confidentiality of all communications required within job duties, including client/employee records and documents, and electronic transmission by voice, data, and wire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
