About Us
Singing Bamboo is a well-established Chinese restaurant serving authentic Chinese cuisine and dim sum in West Palm Beach for over 40 years. We are looking for an experienced, hardworking cook to take ownership of our fry station and assist with daily prep.
This is a fast-paced position that plays an important role in the success of our kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion sizes
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and restaurant standards
- Maintain consistency in recipes, sauces, prep methods, and plating
- Create and maintain daily and weekly prep lists
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and properly maintained at all times
- Monitor food quality and freshness and immediately address anything that does not meet standards
- Help manage inventory, ordering, receiving, food storage, and product rotation
- Monitor waste, portion control, and food costs
- Make sure all products are properly labeled, dated, stored, and rotated using FIFO
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
- Communicate shortages, equipment issues, staffing problems, and other kitchen concerns to ownership/management
- Help document recipes and kitchen procedures so all dishes can be consistently reproduced by the team
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable kitchen environment
- Work closely with ownership and management to continuously improve food quality, efficiency, and kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or experienced Lead Cook
- Strong cooking fundamentals and ability to consistently execute recipes at a high volume
- Strong understanding of kitchen organization, prep, sanitation, and food safety
- Ability to lead, train, and hold kitchen employees accountable
- Must care about food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and presentation
- Experience with inventory, ordering, portion control, and food-cost management preferred
- Ability to work efficiently during busy services while maintaining quality standards
- Reliable, responsible, punctual, and able to work independently
- Must be willing to learn the restaurant’s existing recipes and systems while helping improve kitchen operations

Schedule
- Full-Time
- Approximately 11:00 AM–9:00 PM
- Six days per week
