Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, particularly with dogs. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional care for our canine companions while ensuring their safety and well-being. The Canine Handler will work closely with both the animals and co-workers , fostering a positive relationship
Duties
- Provide daily care for dogs, including picking up poop, feeding, giving water and exercising in the yard.
- Utilize animal restraint techniques when necessary to ensure the safety of both the dogs and staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and play areas to promote a healthy environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of dogs, reporting any concerns to staff & parents as needed.
- Assist in customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's needs and behavior.
- Perform heavy lifting as required when handling large breeds or moving equipment.
Requirements
- Experience in kennel management or animal care is preferred, but willing to train!
- Knowledge of dog handling techniques and animal behavior is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively interact with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physically demanding tasks.
- Proficiency working with others as a team is a must.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
