Position Summary
Our growing outpatient clinic is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and patient-centered Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) to provide comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare to patients across the lifespan (FNP) or women throughout adolescence and adulthood (WHNP). The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality care, promoting preventive health, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
Essential ResponsibilitiesClinical Care
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Provide preventive care, wellness exams, and health screenings.
- Manage chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, obesity, and thyroid disorders.
- Provide patient education regarding disease prevention, medications, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure continuity of care.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic health record (EHR).
Women's Health Responsibilities (WHNP or FNP with Women's Health Experience)
- Perform annual well-woman examinations.
- Conduct breast and pelvic examinations.
- Perform Pap smears and cervical cancer screenings.
- Diagnose and treat common gynecologic conditions.
- Evaluate and manage menstrual disorders.
- Provide contraceptive counseling and family planning services.
- Insert and remove long-acting reversible contraceptives (IUDs and Nexplanon), if credentialed.
- Diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections.
- Provide menopause evaluation and management.
- Counsel patients regarding reproductive health and preventive screenings.
- Provide pregnancy confirmation, prenatal counseling, and referrals as appropriate.
Primary Care Responsibilities (FNP)
- Provide care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Conduct annual wellness visits and preventive health screenings.
- Manage chronic medical conditions.
- Treat common acute illnesses and minor injuries.
- Perform school, sports, and employment physicals.
- Administer immunizations according to CDC guidelines.
- Promote preventive healthcare and disease management.
Procedures (Based on Training and Privileges)
- Pap smears
- Endometrial biopsy (if credentialed)
- IUD insertion/removal
- Nexplanon insertion/removal
- Incision and drainage of minor abscesses
- Skin biopsies
- Cryotherapy
- Joint injections (if trained)
- Ear irrigation
- Wound care and suture removal
Patient Education
- Lifestyle modification
- Weight management
- Nutrition counseling
- Smoking cessation
- Diabetes education
- Hypertension management
- Medication counseling
- Women's preventive health
- Sexual health education
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate documentation within established timeframes.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and state regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with chart audits and performance improvement activities.
- Maintain current licensure and certifications.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME).
QualificationsRequired
- Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
- National certification as:
- Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC or FNP-C), or
- Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC)
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
- Current BLS certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $150,891.00 - $160,385.00 per year
