Southern Springs Health Care, a 123 bed skilled nursing facility in Union Springs, AL is looking for Certified Nursing Assistants on the 7-3 and 3-11 shifts to join our team. We are centrally located between Montgomery, Eufaula, Troy, Tuskegee and Auburn. A job description is listed below.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
To perform non-professional direct patient care duties under the supervision of nursing personnel and to assist in maintaining a positive physical, social and psychological environment for the residents.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing and currently licensed by the state of Alabama or in training to satisfactorily complete the requirements to become a Certified Nurse Assistant.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have the ability to verbally communicate with residents, families, the public and other members of the organization.

Must have the ability to read/write English and document observations.

Must be able to safely perform the "essential job functions" with or without reasonable accommodation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Personal Care Functions

Work alone giving total care or assists residents with

Bed bath, tub bath or shower

Mouth, hair and nail care, shaving, dressing and undressing, application of makeup.

Elimination needs including toileting by offering bedpan, urinal, or taking to bathroom.

Ambulating, transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as a Walker, Wheelchair, Hoyer Lift, Gait Belt or Lift Sheets.

Answer all call lights promptly.

Takes and records temperatures, blood pressure, and pulse, respirations and O2 Saturation percentage accurately.

Feeds resident, maintain intake and output as requested, and weighs resident as instructed.

Observes and reports physical and/or behavioral changes in resident immediately to charge nurse.

Provides nursing functions as directed by supervisor including

Daily perineal care

Catheter care

Change dressings

Turning residents in bed

Giving sponge baths

Measuring and recording temperature, pulse and respirations.

Weighing and measuring residents when directed by supervisor

Performing restorative and rehabilitative procedures.

Observing and reporting presence of skin breakdown

Reviewing care plans daily

Reporting changes in resident condition to supervisor

Recording all necessary charting entries
