We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to join our growing team in Fort Worth, Midland, or Pittsburgh. If you have a strong background in survey drafting, producing high-quality plats and mapping deliverables, and performing quality reviews of survey documents, we'd love to hear from you.
Position Summary
The Survey CAD Technician is responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining survey drawings, maps, plats, alignment sheets, and exhibits using Autodesk Civil 3D. This position works closely with surveyors, project managers, GIS specialists, and land professionals to produce accurate, high-quality deliverables that support a variety of energy, utility, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise survey drawings, plats, exhibits, alignment sheets, and maps using survey data, legal descriptions, field notes, and client specifications.
- Convert survey data into precise technical drawings and mapping deliverables.
- Produce right-of-way exhibits, boundary plats, easement exhibits, parcel maps, alignment sheets, and other project-related graphics.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of preliminary plats, alignment sheets, legal descriptions, and other survey deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with company standards and client requirements prior to submittal.
- Incorporate redline revisions and project updates accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain company drafting standards, layer management, file organization, and document control procedures.
- Collaborate with surveyors, project managers, GIS specialists, and land professionals to ensure project accuracy and timely completion.
- Assist with project documentation, data management, and record organization.
- Meet project schedules while maintaining a high level of drafting accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Survey CAD drafting experience, preferably supporting land surveying projects.
- Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of survey principles, boundary surveying, legal descriptions, plats, alignment sheets, easements, and mapping concepts.
- Experience performing QA/QC reviews of survey plats, alignment sheets, legal descriptions, and related survey deliverables.
- Ability to interpret survey field notes, deeds, title information, and legal descriptions.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting right-of-way, utility, oil & gas, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS.
- Experience working with coordinate systems, geospatial data, and mapping standards.
- Knowledge of survey workflows from field data collection through final deliverables.
- Experience working directly with Professional Land Surveyors and project managers.

Pay: $1.00 - $999,999.00 per day
