This short-term assignment will run from August 31, 2026, through November 24, 2026, covering maternity leave. You’ll work onsite, supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students across the district, actively shaping educational plans and directly impacting young lives.
Your expertise will be essential in:
- Performing comprehensive audiological assessments and education-focused DHH evaluations to determine auditory and communication abilities.
- Collaborating with clinical audiologists and ENT providers to gather medical documentation for DHH eligibility and Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT) clearance.
- Assisting families with follow-up, helping them navigate clinical recommendations and medical services.
- Interpreting test results for teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary school teams to inform classroom and intervention strategies.
- Consulting with support staff and families on the educational impact of hearing loss.
- Joining the Early On Team to serve children from birth to age three, including participating in home visits when necessary.
To thrive in this assignment, candidates should possess:
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Master’s Degree in Audiology.
- Active Michigan Audiology License.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A).
- At least 3–5 years of experience working in pediatric and/or educational audiology preferred.
