Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold health and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and ensure proper storage of clean items for easy access by kitchen staff
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as bussing tables and organizing supplies to support the culinary team
- Support catering and banquet events by ensuring all serving ware is clean and ready for use
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage waste disposal and recycling efforts effectively
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including floors, sinks, and work surfaces
Skills
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, food handling safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues during busy shifts
- Basic understanding of catering, banquet service, or hotel kitchen operations is a plus
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads when necessary
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and servers
