Duties
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments to meet individual client needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand their health concerns, preferences, and treatment goals.
- Educate clients on the benefits of different massage therapies and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed records of client treatments, progress notes, and health histories in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to ensure comfort, address questions, and provide post-treatment care instructions.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to sanitation standards and maintaining equipment.
- Stay current with industry best practices, new techniques, and continuing education requirements such as CPR certification.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Massage Therapist with active certification.
- Proven experience in massage therapy including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical or occupational health treatments.
- Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to tailor treatments effectively.
- Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to assess client needs accurately.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to pain management and therapeutic procedures.
- CPR certification is required for safety compliance.
- Prior experience working in med spas or healthcare settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
