Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Secretary-Assistant / Litigation Assistant with experience in personal injury to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a law office environment, strong administrative skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. This role is essential in ensuring our attorneys and case managers have the administrative support they need to serve clients effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic)
- Manage calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, and client meetings
- File documents with state and federal courts (including e-filing)
- Answer and direct phone calls, greet clients, and handle correspondence
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with trial preparation and case management
- Track deadlines and ensure timely follow-up on case developments
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a legal secretary with active litigation files (personal injury highly preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and case management software (experience with Casepeer, Filevine or similar is a plus)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Familiarity with court filing procedures and deadlines
- Professional demeanor and client-service focus
· Spanish language is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
