Position Title: Auditor – Commercial Lighting
Reports To: VP Sales

Position Summary
The Auditor – Commercial Lighting is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the company’s lighting audit program. This role establishes the full audit process framework—including documentation, forms, workflows, and training materials—and leads all on-site audit activities. The Auditor ensures audits are efficiently planned, precisely executed, and successfully transitioned to the estimation, design, and sales teams for solution development.
This position serves as a key liaison between the sales, design, and operations teams to ensure high-quality, data-driven assessments of existing lighting systems. The Auditor will take ownership of process improvement, audit accuracy, and the professional development of audit team members.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Execution
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of field audits—scheduling, equipment preparation, team assignments, and logistics.
- Conduct and lead on-site audits for commercial, industrial, hospitality, and specialty projects nationwide.
- Review and document existing lighting configurations, controls, and installation conditions.
- Collect detailed data on fixture types, quantities, mounting heights, power loads, and lighting performance metrics (including lumen output, color temperature, and illumination levels).
- Evaluate legacy lighting systems (fluorescent, HID, etc.) for retrofit potential, performance degradation, and compliance with current standards.
Data Integrity and Handoff
- Validate and summarize field data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Generate comprehensive audit reports suitable for use by the lighting design and sales engineering teams.
- Manage the final data handoff to design, ensuring project readiness for proposal development.
- Continuously monitor data accuracy and recommend process improvements for higher efficiency and precision.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as the subject-matter expert (SME) for audit operations, providing guidance and mentorship to field auditors.
- Collaborate closely with sales and design teams to align audit outputs with client needs and design standards.
- Support the VP of Sales and sales leadership in developing metrics and KPIs to evaluate audit performance and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–7 years in commercial lighting, field auditing, or related electrical/engineering field is preferred but not necessary.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of lighting systems, components, controls and installation methods is preferred but not necessary.
- Skills:
- Highly motivated individual with a strong sense of accuracy and a “do it right the first time” mindset.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, CAD layouts, and spec sheets.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS).
- Working knowledge of UL standards, IES requirements, and safety protocols.
- Preferred:
- Background in electrical contracting, retrofit projects, or energy efficiency programs.
- Familiarity with digital audit tools and mobile data collection systems.
- Experience in sales or customer-facing technical roles.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
