AZ-Registered Nurse-Labor & Delivery-Contract
Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Pay Rate: $75 to $80/hr
Contract: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 12-Hour Day Shift; must be flexible for other shifts as needed
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Experience: Minimum 5 years required
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics for a 13-week contract opportunity in Fort Defiance, Arizona. This role supports Labor & Delivery, postpartum, newborn care, and baby-friendly care practices, with occasional charge nurse coverage after training.
Responsibilities
Provide nursing care for Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn patients.
Support mothers and newborns in a baby-friendly care environment.
Monitor laboring patients and respond to clinical changes.
Assist with deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum recovery care.
Provide newborn assessments and family-centered education.
Float to other qualified departments as needed.
Assist with charge nurse duties after training, when required.
Document patient care accurately in RPMS.
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse license required.
Minimum 5 years of recent Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn experience required.
Current BLS/BCLS required.
Current NRP required.
ACLS or ALSO required.
AWHONN Advanced FHM required; RNC-EFM may be accepted as substitute.
STABLE certification preferred or required per facility needs.
RPMS experience preferred.
Must be flexible to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Holiday coverage required.
Must be willing to float to qualified departments as assigned.
Business casual or scrubs acceptable for orientation.
