JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Operator is responsible for setting up and operating all department equipment in the VAS department in the fabrication of wire to meet customer’s requirements and/or specifications as planned by the department supervisor. Support the department’s efforts of the team and focus on continuously improving the department’s efficiency in a clean and organized manner. This position is reports to the VAS Supervisor.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma, GED, or advanced technical training or certification preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Reading comprehension and strong math skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to convey technical information.
- Basic product and manufacturing operation and processing understanding.
- Must be mechanically inclined with attention to detail. Medium technical aptitude and machine programming experience desired.
- An analytical mind will be helpful with a desire to solve problems.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Label printer, Laser Ablation, Cutting/Straightening, Welding equipment.
- Various shop tools are also used.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Most of the workday is spent standing or walking. There is some exposure to mechanical moving parts
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Product knowledge and descriptions associated with client’s names.
- Understanding of manufacturing enamels and bonding materials.
- Understanding of wire enameling and fabrication processes.
- Understanding of the Laser Ablation fabrication process.
- Use of microscopes and measuring features.
- Completion of initial and annual Hazardous Safety training.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Performs setup and routine operations on VAS machines and completes documentation in a timely manner as trained and instructed.
- Interpret drawing dimensions accurately to manufacture parts within specifications.
- Perform sample inspection activities using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts are within specified tolerances.
- Involved in the daily operations in the VAS department and supports the team to meet deadlines.
- A clear understanding of all the machine operations in the department.
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Share and discuss process improvements with the team.
