Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and dedicated Community Coaches and Outdoorsmen with hands-on experience working with individuals with disabilities to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will lead outdoor activities and community outings, fostering independence, social skills, and personal growth for clients with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead outdoor activities, recreational outings, and community-based events tailored to clients’ interests and abilities
- Support clients in developing life skills through engaging activities that promote independence and social interaction
- Provide personal transportation assistance using standard passenger cars to ensure safe arrival and departure from activities or appointments
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive behavior during outings and activities
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to coordinate care plans and activity schedules
- Maintain safety protocols at all times, including first aid and CPR procedures when necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders in outdoor or community settings
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health support techniques
- Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely and responsibly for client transportation
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies tailored to clients with cognitive disabilities
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Personal transportation assistance experience preferred
- Valid first aid and CPR certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Background in caregiving, social services, or home & community care is highly desirable
