Caregivers on Martin South Hospital’s 3A Medical Telemetry Unit provide care to patients who require continuous monitoring of their cardiac and respiratory functions due to conditions such as heart disease, risk of arrhythmia or recovery from a cardiac event like a heart attack or surgery. As a Team Center Coordinator on the team, you will provide a high level of customer service to patients, families, visitors and caregivers to promote and support the highest level of patient experience. In this role, you will act as the traffic controller for the unit ensuring that call lights are being answered, patient’s nutrition needs are being met and smooth patient operations. 90% of this role involves direct patient care, requiring a caregive r in this position to be ready to move quickly and demonstrate strong leadership. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
Provide or assist with basic patient care activities, such as vital signs, weights, personal care, activities of daily living, patient transfers and transports, pulse oximetry and point of care testing.
