Job Overview:
We are seeking reliable and motivated Machine Operators / Machine Assistants to support production at a fast-paced manufacturing facility in New Paltz, NY. This role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring high-speed equipment to ensure consistent quality and production efficiency.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for candidates with mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment.
Machine Operator / Machine Assistant Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate high-speed manufacturing machines
- Monitor equipment during production to ensure quality and efficiency
- Perform basic machine adjustments and changeovers for speed, pressure, and material flow
- Measure materials accurately (including to 1/16 of an inch)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production area
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and production standards
- Assist with multiple machines as needed and support team operations
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience operating manufacturing or printing equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Basic computer skills for machine operation and tracking
- Ability to perform basic math and measurements accurately
- Familiarity with inks, printing processes, or color systems (PMS/GCMU) is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn new equipment and processes
