Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as an Adult Daycare Driver with PCA (Personal Care Assistant) Experience. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting adult daycare attendees to and from our facility safely and efficiently. Additionally, you will provide personal care assistance to participants as needed, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the day.
Responsibilities:
- Transportation: Safely drive participants to and from the adult daycare facility, following designated routes and schedules.
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide compassionate personal care assistance to attendees, including but not limited to helping with mobility, personal hygiene, feeding, and medication reminders.
- Client Interaction: Interact with attendees in a friendly and respectful manner, fostering a supportive and engaging environment.
- Safety: Ensure the safety and security of all participants during transportation and while at the facility, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any assistance provided to participants.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with caregivers, staff, and healthcare professionals regarding the needs and concerns of participants.
- Compassionate Support: Offer emotional support and companionship to attendees, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards their individual needs and preferences.
- Flexibility: Be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of participants and the adult daycare program.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- PCA Experience: Prior experience as a Personal Care Assistant or similar role is required, preferably working with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping others and a compassionate attitude towards the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with participants and their caregivers.
- Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a strong commitment to the well-being and safety of participants.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, and assist participants as needed, as well as withstand the physical demands of the role.
- CPR and First Aid Certification: Current certification in CPR and First Aid, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Healthcare: Previous experience working in a healthcare or caregiving setting.
- Knowledge of ADA Regulations: Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations pertaining to transportation services for individuals with disabilities.
- Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in a second language, especially Spanish or any language commonly spoken by attendees, is advantageous.
