Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer to join our dedicated team. Duties
- Coordinate and manage funeral services from initial arrangements to final disposition, ensuring all details align with family wishes and legal requirements
- Perform embalming procedures with precision, maintaining the highest standards of sanitation, safety, and professionalism
- Prepare bodies through cosmetology, dissection, and restorative techniques to present respectful and natural appearances
- Provide bereavement support to grieving families, offering guidance and empathetic communication throughout the process
- Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when transporting bodies or equipment
- Organize and oversee event planning for memorial services, visitations, and other related functions
- Maintain meticulous records of all procedures, documentation, and compliance with health regulations
Skills
- Licensed in funeral directing and embalming with current certification
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and dissection techniques essential for body preparation
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate compassionately and clearly with families and colleagues
- Proficiency in organizational skills to manage multiple arrangements efficiently
- Experience in sales or client consultation to assist families in selecting services and merchandise
- Knowledge of sanitation practices to ensure a safe working environment for staff and visitors
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines
- Familiarity with event planning processes for coordinating memorial services and related activities
